Leapfrog Learning CenterOur Philosophy

The entire Leapfrog Community is committed to make Leapfrog the best pre-school in America. This commitment to excellence is focused on providing the caring, nurturing support on a "one-on-one" personal level which is essential for every pre-schooler to reach his/her potential. We are driven by our conviction that if your child can begin primary school with a positive and optimistic attitude, the resulting self-confidence will benefit every endeavor your child undertakes in the future.

“To be good is not enough when you dream of being great.”

Our commitment to your children focusses on four specific goals all intended to foster self-confidence and a positive attitude.

Building Trust

The most important people at Leapfrog are the children. We create an atmosphere in which children are free to be themselves and where their emotions and interests are respected and acknowledged. The Leapfrog program is designed around the needs of our children with a daily routine that rotates between structured activities and free play. Knowing that their feelings and preferences are important gives Leapfrog children a sense of control and security which is essential in building an open and trusting relationship.

Self Esteem.png

Self-Esteem

Children will learn many things in our learning center but by far the most important is an enduring confidence in their own skills and abilities. Our top priority, underlying everything we do, is the systematic/conscientious development of your child's self-esteem. We accomplish this by creating a non-competitive environment filled with numerous opportunities for success. Because our emphasis is on participation, your child's accomplishments are never at the expense of another child's failure. We strive to make every child feel like a winner, tailoring our activities around each child's evolving interests and abilities. Our goal is to have children go home full of proud stories of their day's discoveries and achievements

Communication

The ability to organize thoughts and feelings and to clearly express them is an essential part of future academic success and a fundamental element in resolving conflicts with family members and peers. Development of related communication skills (a pre-schoolers' ability to clearly express themselves as well as an ability to listen to the ideas of others) is a high priority. We accomplish this through frequent teacher/student verbal interaction as well as through a wide variety of games and activities which require teamwork, negotiation, and discussion.

Respect for Others

We are flexible and caring but we are not without rules.

Physical aggression among children is never permitted.

All toys and equipment must be shared.

Children must respect the feelings and property of others.

Although our children have substantial freedom of choice, there is constant reinforcement that they must respect the needs and feelings of others. This is taught primarily through example. We begin with the clear and repeated demonstration that our teachers respect the feelings of our students and that we expect them to show the same respect for each other. All children have a strong intuitive sense of fairness and by stressing the reciprocity aspect of the "Do unto others" theme, children soon realize that they benefit from our rules.
